But back on topic: I used to hate the Last Night with it's easy jingoism. However, if the Greeks could have a comedy at the end of their tragedies, I don't really mind this – as long as I don't have to listen/watch.

I did watch the clip you posted. Sarah Connelly was great (and nice bit of sending herself up), but I doubt it will be her best piece of work.

It's the way many people think the Proms *is* the last night, rather than that being a sort of post-proms party.

Never mind, it'll be the Met Opera season soon.
