That earthquake on America’s East coast didn’t really make it to the front pages of the British newspapers which is a pity because the dramatic event showed true American grit at its most impressive. People didn’t panic, they just came out onto the streets in an orderly fashion and then went back to sort out the damage in admirably cool style.
I hope Hurricane Irene will be as gentle.
