Foxes hit the road.

It is quite cool being related to a rock band so I have been enjoying my blood ties to the greatly entertaining indie-rock band known, complete with exclamation mark, as Foxes! So forgive my bias if I suggest you try to find them on their UK tour which began this week.

Foxes!

It is an exciting moment in the band’s career as they go off on the road supporting album charting folksy band Stornoway and then going off to the Andorra Festival in Spain. Their audience continues to grow – charmed by that mix of literate lyrics,   inspired vocals, sophisticated harmony, and fine if sometimes faux naif musicianship augmented by their distinctive casio keyboards and often wry humour. With my insider knowledge and privileged access I have been lucky enough to follow them since the very beginning so I am as proud as proud can be now that success is looking them in the eye.

Stornoway

Here is a taste of their brand of whimsical profundity and charm:

Oh yes, and here are Stornoway – they are kinda cute too:

Oh yes, I forgot. I spoke to a nice man at the Lewes estate agent, Oakleys who still haven’t taken down that For Sale sign (see last week’s blog) even though they promised to five weeks ago now after putting it up there over two years ago – right in front of my living room window. Apparently the pleasant woman who has been telling me that they instructed someone to take it down was wrong, the instruction has only just been given and the man said it would be down by Friday.  Yay! Come on Oakleys, get someone to take it down and keep your promise. I spoke to Lewes District Council too who told me that Lewes doesn’t have a policy on “rogue” For Sale signs not even for listed buildings unlike Brighton who takes this sort of thing seriously.

So look out for the sign coming down on Friday…..there is no chance that it won’t is there?
