Britain’s Royal Mail, beleaguered, struggling, under competition but incompetent and old-fashioned at management level patronising its customers with shoddy marketing and terrible telecommunications. We deserve more for our mail and our postmen and postwomen, almost always excellent in my opinion, deserve better support. I recorded this infuriating but sadly typical telephone response during opening hours when needing to get through to the very capable sorting office in Lewes. Have a listen:
