As yesterday was the first day of Spring, my hometown of Lewes in Southern England decided to dress for the occasion with bulbs and blossoms decorating walls and gardens. The sun shone all day and I was suddenly extra proud of living in this picturesque, historically and architecturally interesting place. Looking at the prehistoric man-made mound that borders onto my garden, I could feel the town calling me from the other side. If you haven’t seen what lies beyond my immediate view, then come on a spring walk with me through that part of Lewes that can be circumnavigated in no more than a twenty minute stroll.
