I love this amazing photograph taken by the Dominican photographer Arun Madisetti of his son swimming with this giant creature, a sperm whale.
It will remind me to put human beings into perspective next time I feel too cocky about myself. It will also, of course, make me celebrate the beauty and grandeur of the natural world.
It has to be said though that I would never dare to do what that guy is doing in the photo, I was scared enough when I swam with a dolphin in Dingle Bay off the West coast of Ireland some years ago. It was something about the eye contact – primordial and somehow sinister.
